Welcome to Govindpur Degree College

On the holy bank of river “Devi” our Govindpur College was established on the auspicious day of 5th January,1990(Friday) on the colossal area of 10acresof land on the premises of “DeviVihar” in the revenue village of Govindpur under Kantapada Block of Cuttack District. Since then our College has been functioning under on the aegis of G.B. of GovindpurCollege registered under Society Registration Act-1860 Vide Certificate No-CTC-1051/1003 of 1990-91 in the Collectorate of Cuttack and by the approved G.B’s of the Govt. from time to time. The OpeningPermission of +3 Arts with 64 seats with English,MIL(O) as compulsory subjects and History, Political Science,Economics and Odia as optional subjects was granted in the academic session 1990-91. Subsequently, the seats were increased to 128 in 1994-95 and to 192 in 1997-98 with grant of three additional subjects like Education, Sanskrit and Sociology. Againin the Session 2000-2001,the +3Science and +3 Commerce Streams were opened.The College was granted the Permanent Recognition in session 2003-04 and the Permanent Affiliation was given to the College by the affiliating UtkalUniversity ,VaniVihar ,Bhubaneswar in the 2004-05 session. The UGC, New Delhi accredited the College with grant of Section 2(F) in the year 2008and Section 12(B) in the year 2012 vide their approval Order No F.No 8-165/2008(CPP)/dtd 4th September 2012.

They not only inculcate social and moral values, compassion for nature, pride for Indian culture and tradition and awareness for one's rights and duties but also make students good human beings and confident leaders.
